Bethpage neighborhood?

Hi, I am new here. My fiancee and I found a house in Bethpage that we are looking to put an offer on but I do not know much about the area as I am from the South Shore. Can anyone share anything about this neighborhood, such as the schools, environment, etc.... if the grumman airport is actually a real airport? lol... It would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Bethpage neighborhood?

I dated someone who lived in Bethpage. It was really nice. Very centrally located to highways, close to malls, not too far from the beaches, good commute to NYC (my ex-bf used to take the train from hicksville.) I'm pretty sure the schools are good. And I don't think that Grumman airport is a real airport, but it's not too far from LaGuardia or JFK (half hour-45 minutes drive.)

Re: Bethpage neighborhood?

I grew up in Bethpage and would of stayed there, but found a nice house next town over.

Bethpage has the best tasting water Chat Icon Thats prob why it was in the news/paper.

My sis happens to be a teacher in the elementary school, and I know the SD is good.
Close to all parkways, Grumman (gives tax break), Close to RR station.

IDK, biased here. I loved growing up there and Im there everyday, both mom and my sis still live there.

ETA: Grumman airport, not a real one, its for their helicopters. I actually took my dd for a walk and its alongside the rr so I heard it. Nothing major.

Re: Bethpage neighborhood?

Depending on where in Bethpage you are, you could be in one of three school districts. Bethpage, Island Trees or Plainedge. Just a good fact to know.

Re: Bethpage neighborhood?

I have lived in Bethpage for a little over 2 years and we like it. Let me know if you have any questions! One of the best things about it is the location. Smack in the middle of everything!

Re: Bethpage neighborhood?

I live in Bethpage now about 6 years and we really like it. The schools are very good, the neighborhoods are very nice. My neighbors are great.

Shopping everywhere and close to all highways and smack between both shores.

We chose it after looking on the south shore extensively and deciding we could get more in Bethpage and for less taxes.

Grumman is an aerospace, aircraft, military company not an airport.

Since Bethpage has industry like Grumman, the taxes are lower than some towns surrounding it that don't have industry.

Please let me know if you have any questions. We live in the Bethpage school district 21. We border Plainview.
