Ever use All Wood Furniture on Main St in Smithtown?
I'm not sure if that's the storefront name, it's the way it comes up on a Google map search.
It's a storefront by Maple Avenue that has unfinished handmade wood furniture. Every time I think to go in there, it's on Sunday and it's closed.
They have a gorgeous Cheval mirror in the window and I'm in love. I've never bought unfinished furniture, or from them. I'm assuming it will be more expensive than something I could buy in Sears or JCPenney simply because it's solid wood.
What are your experiences with this in general, or do you know anything about this business?

I've used them!
I have a trunk I bought from them years ago that I still have and love and my dresser when I was a teenager was from them as well. Their furniture is really good quality, built really well. All the pieces I bought there were unfinished and we would stain them ourselves but I know if you pay a little extra, they'll also stain it for you if you'd like. They have tons of colors.
I had nothing but good experiences with them and they are great for specific pieces you can't find anywhere else....they may also build custom pieces but you'd have to check on that one. Oh and price wise, I remember it being pretty reasonable.

Thank you! My bedroom is a little on the dark side so as long as I chose a finish that is close, you couldn't tell that they weren't a matching set.
I like the idea of staining it myself but in all honesty, I'd probably see if they could do it.
