Rugs/Remnants
Where did you get yours?
We are going to look at Lowes tonight but we want somewhere else to compare pricing to. We are going to do an area rug in each bedroom that has hardwood floors and apparently it seems more economical to have regular carpet just bound around the edges in a 10'x13' fashion so we have a foot of hardwood floor around the entire perimeter of the room.
I don't want to jump at the first place we shop, I want to have a game plan in mind. TIA

Re: Rugs/Remnants
I've had that done twice ( not on LI though) & it is a good deal. I needed big rugs to cover 80% of my floor when I was renting in a co-op complex, so this was the best solution.
They didn't call it remnants though, there were just rolls they had in stock. One is a speckly gray & one is a solid tan. If you want more of a pattern, it is probably better to get an actual area rug.

Re: Rugs/Remnants
I got a really nice remnant (9.5 x 13)from Montauk carpet on 110 in farmingdale. In the back they have a huge selection, varied quality and color.
It was $150 for the piece and then $1.50 for each linear foot of the area to bind.

I've bought rugs from this place as well. Check it out. Lot's to choice from.

Re: Rugs/Remnants
We got a 8'x12' berber for our nursery for over the hardwood floors for $70 at BJs. Definitely the best price we found, but not a ton of options for the size.
Lowe's and Home Depot also have a bunch.

Re: Rugs/Remnants
Honestly, we've always had the best luck on either overstock.com or ikea. Maybe check those sites before settling on remnants....
Ikea has WONDERFUL wool rugs for $200-300.... IMO, they look much better than a solid-color remnant, and they're durable

Re: Rugs/Remnants
we got ours at Empress Carpets on voice road in carle place - they have great prices and they're such nice people. They also take remnants and can make them into cheap, area rugs
