Give me my closing date!!!! Aggghhhhh....
Oh my goodness, I am so frustrated with this whole buying process!
I just needed to vent so here goes:
We found a house we loved, had it inspected and it was problem free. We all agreed to a quick close and seller signed the contract about 5 days after the contract was finalized.
Sooooo, fine, we have done everything we need to do, have a mortgage ready, home insurance ready, everything, we are ready to close, our bank is ready, title search done and..... we are still waiting for the closing date to be finalized by the freaking seller!!!
Now, he knows that our amazing 4.375 rate expires this friday, we agreed to pay the penalty ($400) to extend the rate for one week because seller wasn't ready to move and needed time and we didn't want hassles but then he supposedly no longer needed this time so our lawyer said we should plan on closing on the 19th.
It's the 15th and we still have no confirmation from the seller that this will in fact happen on th 19th. I'm not sure what our lawyer is doing and quite frankly i'm upset, she should be doing more to find out exactly what is happening. We've been waiting for the final date since thursday evening.
What should we do? Is it our lawyer's fault, should we contact our broker? I'm not sure how to move this along and I'm getting worried and upset. I feel like this is never going to happen. And we cannot afford to lose our rate, especially now with the rates skyrocketting.
Agghh, I'm 5 months pregnant but I don't think that its hormones making me feel this way. Wow, this vent was therapeutic.
Any thoughts, suggestions, comments?
Thanks again all.

Re: Give me my closing date!!!! Aggghhhhh....
we just went through the same thing BUT i have a question for you. Why are you paying the extension fee because the sellers needed more time??!
My lawyer fought for that and the seller paid the fee. why should you pay if you are ready to go
Good luck. it is a very frustrating process & it seems like sellers have the upper hand when it comes to a closing date.
also, i really would start getting on EVERYBODY'S case. you are paying them all very well to do their job & obviously they are not. My agent was the mediator too. get him/her involved to. don't be too nice. in the end i became their worse nightmare. but u are paying alot of money & you have every right to be upset.
if you have any questions feel free to send me an FM
