Spinoff to what's behind your couch. If you have a window behind it...
What are your window treatments? If they are curtains or drapes do they go down to the fall?

We just have blinds on the windows of our bay and just a valance across the top.

These are my exact colors in my LR, or they at look like they are.
I love the curtains. I just bought some from JCPenny's and seeing yours I want to return them. I wanted to go with your idea to begin with but I was talked out if it. Seeing yours makes me think I should have listened to myself!

I have Hunter Douglas blinds that were left behind from the previous owners (that I don't really like, but they are $$$$) and I have a Kingston valance with framing drapes that go to the floor.

I was up in the air about doing it myself, buy DH actually said he wanted to try it and we can always return it. The curtains are from Pottery Barn and the shears are from Bed Bath and Beyond.
Have to say I love the way it came out and get so many compliments on it.
