No luck
I have to say girls whoever can get a home your lucky. The last house we had a chance of buying we had inspected by my brother in law before bringing in our official inspector and as amazing as the construction of the home was, to fix a home 90 years old we would need money which we do not have. I also had purchased a lead testing kit to see if we would even pass the lead inspection - failed. Lead paint on the windows, i do not even get a chance to remove it after sale they won't fund me (TOB).
So after six + months of searching/finding/loosing i am starting to get a bit blah. But I found another fixer upper today hope maybe we can get in before someone steals that one away from us.

Re: No luck
i believe the owner is required to remove lead paint before selling the house....i could be wrong, but they make you sign a waiver that there is no known lead paint in the house before sale. But i understand what you mean about repairs and upkeep of a fixer upper being unaffordable. Most of the houses for the size we wanted in our price range were fixer uppers as well, which we realized we really couldnt afford the upkeep on (considering we are not handy ourselves). So we ended up getting a smaller house that dosnt need as much work. I am sure there is something else out there for you, just keep looking! Good Luck!!!
