Question - who pays?
We have an accepted bid and did the inspection Sat. - we have a few open issues regarding, plymbing, gas, etc. The sellers are elderly and bought the house from a friend 2 years ago - they claim to not have a lot of info. on file, but we want to see docs - for example, they have a bucket by the valve on the hot water heater - they said there was a leak but it was fixed and they don't have paperwork. So - my agent suggested we bring in a plumber to look at all these things - she said we would have to pay for it b/c we're the ones who want the verification - is that right?
TIA!

Re: Question - who pays?
This is a buyers market, I would make the seller pick up as many expenses as possible.

Re: Question - who pays?
You have to pay for it. It's not the seller's responsibility to pay for a plumber to come in because YOU want verification. It's like an inspection on the house - which YOU paid for.
If, after the plumber comes and sees problems, you can have the sellers pay to fix the problem.

I concur.
