Nailtiques #2

Has anyone used this as a top coat after a manicure? Is it good for preventing chips?

i use it on my nails in general.. AMAZING for ur nails... don't know about how great it is w/chips as a top coat on other polish, but if u want ur nails to be nice & strong & grow super fast - i give it an A+ Chat Icon

I use it now and I like how it feels on my nails. That is why I thought maybe I could use it as a top coat to prevent chips after getting a manicure. I hate how manicures last only a few days.

That's a great idea! I was going to put it on after the manicure, but then that is like 5 layers.

Re: Nailtiques #2

I personally like it as a base but not as a top coat. I found it doesn't make it as smooth Chat Icon

but it's different for everyone, so maybe before going for a manicure, do your own manicure and use that as a top coat and see how you like it! That way u don't waste the $$ on the mani if u use that as a top coat and then don't like it !Chat Icon

Re: Nailtiques #2

I used to always use it as my base AND top coat so go for it!

Now, though, I've found that the best combo for me to have my polish stay more than 2 days (sometimes up to a week!!!) is this:

OPI base coat (it has a slight tint in the bottle, but not when you wear it)

Nail polish (I use Essie colors) - one or 2 coats

OPI top coat

I bought them at Duane Reade before my wedding and SERIOUSLY it was the best investment! They're not THAT expensive (like what, $6-8 a bottle??), but using this combo really makes my manicures last - I do my own these days.

Hope that helps!
