does anyone use a primer by itself
instead of make up?
i just tried the sally hansen line by carmindy and i am not happy - my skiin is too oily and even with the primer the foundation doesn't look right.
i was using smashbox tinted moisturizer, and i loved it, but it's kind of pricey... $30.
i need very light coverage but i need SOMETHING.

I don't think the primer would really do much - KWIM?
I LOVE the laura mercier oil-free tinted moisturizer!
Over the summer, I can wear just that with some mascara and feel good to go.
Otherwise, bare escentuals has great stuff that's very light.

Re: does anyone use a primer by itself
I recently went to Sephora to get a primer, but the girls there told me not to bother. Not sure why. But I was glad they saved me $30!
On days when I wear no makeup, I just use a mattifying lotion to tighten the pores and make my skin look a little more even. It's not a polished look that I can go to work in, though.

MAC sells primer paint pots in different colors - I haven't used any but the neutral to use under my eye shadow, but I have been tempted to buy a color because I like the way it lays on my lid....

For oily skin I find that most foundations just worsen the situation and if you have large pores like me it just lays in your pores and makes them look worse.
If you want light coverage I'd say try bare minerals... it feels like you are wearing nothing but gives some finish to your skin...
