I want to get my DH a "man purse" (murse)
actually a messanger bag, one that has a long strap that goes across the body. he is starting a new job and needs a bag. any idea's? i'm willing to spend the money for it!

not sure how much you want to spend but i have seen the lv Brooklyn GM bag and its so nice for a guy.

jack spade has some nice but simple bags. I'd also suggest brooklyn industries and manhattan portage if you are looking for something that is functional but not necessarily high end

DH has a brown leather bag - I honestly can't remember the designer - Kenneth Cole maybe?
He abuses everything, so I didn't spend more than $150 -
I personally don't like anything w/ a logo on it (LV, Gucci, etc) for a man.
It stikes me as a little too feminine ........JMO

I got one of these from an army/navy store for my DH when he was in grad school & he loves it.
It isn't that fancy--it is canvas, but it has held up well, and it has been about 8 or 9 years.
