What would you girls?

Consider Fashion Forward if someone in HR said that to you?

Re: What would you girls?

not sure how I would exactly take it, but to me fashion foward means to have the leading fashion trends, whats 'in' now

Re: What would you girls?

To me it means that you are well versed in what is in right now in fashion, that you have an eye and a good vision to predict trends in fashion.

Probably being one step ahead of a trend. Having an eye for what will be hot, not what is.

Re: What would you girls?

To me, it's taking trends from the runway and interpreting it to fit your lifestyle. I don't think it's the same as being trendy because to me, trendy is what EVERYONE is wearing.

I agree, but since I myself am not fashion forward, I wouldn't know what to wear if that was the dress code.
I guess whatever is new in the high-end stores.

It means dressing trendy and creatively. Not necessarily in only what's "in" now, but also dressing in fashion of tomorrow...creating a lead that others will follow.

ETA: Seems like you're interviewing with some highend either fashion designer or media.

The only thing I can think of after you elaborated is that maybe the interviewer felt you were to conservative for the type of atmosphere of the place.

Re: What would you girls?

Maybe it means that what you wore was fine for the interview but " don't dress like that for everyday work, we're not bankers over here."

In that case I guess the person meant: if you get the job do not wear 3pc suits bc that's not the dress code, it's too conservative for our atmosphere . KWIM?
Good luck with it . I hope you get it if you want itChat Icon
