"Club attire"
I was invited to my cousin's daughter's Bat Mitzvah. Her mom is kind of hip, and they are having the party at Club G in Syosset - I don't know what this place is, but I'm assuming they want this to be a city-type clubby feel. On the invite it says "Club attire"
Now, I am 35, and used to be a HUGE club goer. However, I am not 20 anymore, and besides the fact that what I used to wear at clubs would not be appropriate for a Bat Mitzvah, it would also not be appropriate for my age.
At the same time, I'm young looking, got my body back in reasonable shape after my baby (albeit almost 2 years later ) so I would like to still enjoy the club attire feel of the party without people looking at me and going look at the old lady trying to look hip....
Any ideas on what I could wear? Also - bear in mind, we are struggling financially, so although I would looooove to go out and buy the latest D&G style, not happening!
While we are at it - could I have some ideas for my 12 year old stepdaughter, who is very tall and thin, and looks like a 16 year old, and DH, who is 45, but also youthful and cute

Re: "Club attire"
DEFINITELY Forever 21! and Charlotte Russe. Check them out. To me Club Attire is dark tight jeans, super high heels and a fancy shirt
*a HUGE change from my vinyl red pants with the holes in the thighs and the matching vinyl tube top that tied in the back. :sigh: I am old.
If you like to shop online try bodyc.com they have a "going out" section.

Re: "Club attire"
So, I was thinking of all these stores. Since I'm not an immediate family member, I can sort of dress down like this? It's 1:30-5:30, so it's not a late night thing - it's ok to dress fun and on the casual side?

I wouldn't think 'club attire' was formal ........If you feel more comfortable, you can get a cute satin dress in a funky color or something like that from Forever 21 ........Let me look ---

I have a tattoo on one of my shoulder blades that I am sure my family would appreciate me covering up - so keep that in mind!

Re: "Club attire"
If your worried about being to casual.. maybe do leggings with some sort of tunic top, cute accessories and heels.
This way it's a bit more like a dress.

Re: "Club attire"
Club G seems pretty casual. I think either of those dresses CCMommy posted would work.
I have to say thoguh, if I was the mom of a 13 year old, I'd be afraid to put "club attire" on the party invites.
DH's cousin decided her backyard graduation party was "Club attire" (at least for her & her friends) and you should have seen what they were wearing!
