Eating Problems
Lately Emily doesn't seem to want to eat and she has had less then 10 oz already today. Normally she eats around 27-28 a day and is ending up with just barely 20 lately. She is eating 3 meals of fruit/cereal a day, but that has been going on for weeks and it is only over the past few days that I've noticed the considerable decrease in her eating. Any ideas why this may be happening?

Re: Eating Problems
Same here- I think it has to do w/ teething... That seems to be the center of all problems

Re: Eating Problems
She isn't refusing her solid feedings-- in fact she's loving them. I just know that her formula feedings are supposed to be the main source of her nutrition, so it worries me that she's eating so much less formula. I got baby orajel - so I should maybe start using it? It is so frustrating that she is refusing feedings so much.

Re: Eating Problems
Yea Ryans still eating his solids ( i just think he likes to chew on his spoon )
Im not a big fan of orajel (JMO) but have used it on RARE occasion (maybe twice)... I try not to do anything, but when its real bad (usually @ night) I give him tylenol...
I also bought teething tablets- havent tried em' yet though!

Re: Eating Problems
Its funny how a lot of us are going through the same thing, but I guess all of our babies are teething at the same time. Hopefully it goes fast!

Re: Eating Problems
I do definately think that it's her teeth. How long does this normally last? She's only 4.5 months. Will it just be bad for a few days and then go away for a while or is it going to be a constant thing now?

Re: Eating Problems
I'm just worried because she's only had 12 oz so far today but has had all 3 of her fruit/cereal feedings. Emily LOVES chewing on the spoon too. She's constantly grabbing it out of my hand when I'm feeding her and smashing it into her mouth, but then she gets it all in her nostrils and stuff so today I started giving her her own spoon to hold while I'm feeding her and I control the food with my spoon. She loves this and takes hers out of her mouth whenever the food is coming, and as soon as I'm done with a spoonful hers goes right back in!

Re: Eating Problems
I find Ryan will either wake for a feeding the night that he didnt eat as much (because he usually sleeps 10-12hrs throught the night) OR eat twice as much the next day....
I always get freaked too- but s ucking hurts them! Just remember- she is also getting an oz or so, when you make her cereal.... and that regardless SHE IS EATING!!!!
The only thing I do- when I notice Ryan not eating as much formula.... I make sure he has a bottle B4 eating his cereal... or eliminate one of the solid meals... so he'll eat an extra bottle!
ETA- give me a call when you have free time so we can chat!
