need some advice/reassurance

Hi all

i had a scare today-woke up to brown blood when I wipe sorry if TMI, got freaked out b/c I had a M/C back in Aug. of 2008. So, I called Dr. and went in for another U/S.. We actually saw the baby last thurs. and it measure 6 weeks four days... and today, this U/S tech is saying 8 weeks! Chat Icon I am shocked! Saw the heartbeat-went from 124 last week to 157 this week and my due date is now 9-9-09

I am happy about that, but they found the reason for the old blood-not sure what it is medically, but it had the word hemorrhage in it... but, it;s less than an inch and they think it will go away. They described it as an old blood vessel that erupted somehow.. they said it should not affect the baby.

Has this happened to anyone?? TIA! Any advice, words would be great!

was it a subchorionic hemorrhage or hematoma? if so, i have had one also. i've bled from it one 2 separate occasions now. they're not uncommon, and while they can cause complications like miscarriage, they are usually inconsequential.

i wouldn't worry too much about this because brown blood is old blood, and it looks like your baby is thriving!

hang in there, i'm sure all will be okay!
