What can I do for DH?
Our (but really his) dog died unexpectedly last night, on the way to the emergency vet nonetheless. What do I do to help his grief? Do I just do nothing? I haven't lost a pet in such a long time I don't really know what it's like as an adult.

Re: What can I do for DH?
There is really nothing you can do, I'd say just be there for him as a shoulder to lean on. Everyone grieves in their own way, and really only time helps.
When I lost my dog about a year and a half ago, nobody could have done anything to make me feel better. Though happy distractions were good... Like my brother and SIL brought over my then 2 week old niece that night to cheer me up.
I'm sorry about your dog

Unfortunately, the pain won't go away. I think all you can do is be there for him. I am very sorry for your loss
