Best furniture when you have cats
I was thinking about getting new couches but with two cats I am unsure which will resist their claws. I know that no couch will do this 100% but my fabric one shows everything. I heard microfiber is good, but what about leather?

We were told microfiber too, but our cats managed to tear that. Sorry I'm no help.

Re: Best furniture when you have cats
It's best to train them when they are little by showing them sratching posts and giving them a place that's theirs.
Our furniture got pretty messed up. We got new stuff and it's only minmally scratched.
I cut their nails often and spray them with the water bottle when they stratch.
It's not perfect but I guess I'm willing to sacrifice my furniture for them.

Um, scrap metal?
Our cats have always damaged everything and anything regardless of material. But I would think microfiber would be a good choice, plus it's sooooo comfy.

It's so true....cats can really damage anything. We replaced a three-yr old couch recently with another microfiber couch in a darker cocoa color.

There's no fabric that's going to withstand them scratching. I have found that the double sided clear tape on the arms works wonders.
Espresso was terrible about the furniture and I bought that, he instantly stopped and scratched only his scratching pads. It's worth the $10 investment.

We bought that double sided tape called Sticky Paws. We left it on so long that it left a horrible finish on the furniture and we have to get it professionally cleaned. (we were going to anyway).
Gerty, O.T. but congrats again Gerty on your wonderful news. So happy for ya.
