Csection ?
Dr. H. told me at my last visit that i didnt have to have to be checked for dilation and effaced anymore if i didnt want to because im a scheduled csection and it really doesnt mean much. Would you still be checked? Part of me wants to be esp. since i have been having a lot of cramping and pressure from time to time, and plus im just curious. What would you do. Am i just being silly

I was never checked with DS and I won't be checked with DD.
Both scheduled c-sections.

they are unnecessary and extremely painful

hmm.. so i guess i will pass up the oppurtunity. I guess i was just hoping just a little that i might go a little earlier. One can only hope right. You girls are right though.. why go through the torture if i dont have to.

With the twins I was going in to refuse--#1-i was told I had to be swabbed for Strp virus so i was like well its a c-section why do I have to be?
then of course I mentioned some verrry nothing cramps-if u can even call it that--I simply just didnt feel right and something woke me the night before-so of course-mention that and u are checked! and holy painful internal/
thank goodness for that! I was in labor and early stages but I had to go to the hospital that day and have the baby-because I cannot have a natural birth-so while..I would pass on it--its probably best not to--but trust me..I feel your pain.
fyi-1 week ahead of scheduled c-sction I went into labor.

I was checked MANY times. I had preterm contractions though, I don't know if that makes a difference. I also had the group b strep test.

I had my group b strep at my last visit where she told me i was pretty much 100% effaced. I have had cramping and on and oh Shooting pains through my vagina. Sorry for the TMI. I dont know why this is such a hard decision to make ...

never did with DD #1 or DD #2- both scheduled c-sections. I'm confused about why they would even care whether you're effaced & dilated. If you go into labor early, so be it. They'll just give you an emergency c rather than on the scheduled date.
