Circuit city stinks
I went yesterday looking for a camera since it was the start of their liquidation sales. I priced out several cameras and went home and did some research. I found one that had great reviews for a great price (179.99- 10megapixels!) I went back this morning and it was 229.00!!! They said that the sale ended yesterday. BUT THEY ARE LIQUIDATING! I tried to talk to a manager, but they wouldnt budge. Now the camera is actually cheaper at Best Buy. So much for a going out of business sale!!

Yeah...we went earlier just to check. The best they were offering was 10%. Pathetic.

wrong board- but another company takes over the liquidation of stores
ever notice they have the same signs, they stop taking gift cards and coupons etc.
it's an outside company and they goal is to make as much money as possible- not get rid of stuff the cheapest
there was a primetime or a 20/20 on this recently

I saw this too.
They actually mark up items and then say there is a discount on that so you don't actually save nearly as much.

thats a bummer. i actually thought I would get a great deal on a gps i was going to go there.
I agree about the linens and things liquidation it was hugely disappointing!

Yep, the liquidators are in charge of pricing. They decided on 10% and there was no time to put the new prices in the system. All of the prices had to be adjusted manually and it took forever. My husband is a manager at Circuit City and was amazed at the crowds on Saturday because the sales were better last month.

So, if I have a Gift Card, I can't use it anymore?
From their website - it does not exist as we knew it anymore...
Will Circuit City stores continue to accept Circuit City gift cards?
