Very frustrated...need your opinion

Please help me understand if I am expecting to much. Let me preface this with a little background:

I have had one ectopic and one MC. I am finally pregnant again but it is very early (6 weeks).

I changed from my previous OB who I was seeing when I had my ectopic and MC. My OB was great whenever I would actually get a call back. The staff was horrible. I would wait 30 min -1 hr when I had an appointment. So b/c of that and several other reasons I decided that I needed to change practices.

I switched to another practice on someone's recommendation ( I have been to the office a total of 3 times) . The staff is o.k. The Dr. is o.k. I have now found out that he no longer delivers. There are other doctors in the practice who do. I also found out they do not do blood work in the office. (Not very convenient)

O.k. so here is my story. I had blood work done @ a lab on Wed. The Dr.'s office has to call in for the results. They claim that they called and there were no results on Thurs. My DH called again today and they said that they would call and see if the results came in. Well no one called me back. I called and happened to get someone. Apparently the voice service should have picked up. The person I spoke to said she had no idea about any message and had no results for me. She suggested that I call back tomorrow and try to speak to one of the nurses…sigh

I guess I should add that the blood test was for my HCG to see if my numbers are good.

I'm really frustrated, stressed and just really don't need this.

I'm wondering if I made the wrong choice switching to this OB. What are your thoughts. TIA

HCG results usually come back the same day and I would be annoyed!

IMO.... if you dont think the doctor/staff are gods' , they dont respond and they dont do bloodwork then switch..... there is still plenty of time

last year i couldnt stand the recommended OB i had on my first loss..I always had a tough time calling into her office, would wait 1 hour each appt just to see a nurse and i didnt feel it worth it. Even when I was m/c I came into her office feeling burning hot and naseau, after 1/2 hour of waiting i puked in her waiting room garbage and was still another 1/2 hour wait.. just not for me... switch- you should feel comfortable where you go.

I had a hard time finding a doctor. I had many bad experiences with other doctors as well. Honestly, I like my doctor, but there is a lot about the office I don't like. I know how hard it can be.

There are many other doctors on long island and a "recommend your OB" thread on the TTC board with many names. You can go to as many doctors as you like before you find the right one. I know its annoying, but its worth it in the end to get someone you are comfortable with. And you are early in your pregnancy, so you have plenty of time. People have switched doctors late in their pregnancy and were happy that they did. Good luck!

Ladies, thnak you so much for taking the time to respond. I spoke with my DH and we agreed that we need to start looking for a new OB.

If you can believe it - I still don't have my results. When I called yesterday the nurse that I spoke with told me they were open today...guess what THEIR OFFICE IS NOT OPEN ON SATURDAYS!!!! So clearly I need to change doctors.

bloodwork results shouldn't be this complicated. def look into finding a practice where you are treated well - you want to make sure you don't have to deal w drama for the remainder of your pg!
