What would you do in this situation?
Say you got ALOT of gifts at your shower, PLUS a ton of giftcards. You are pretty much set with what you need.
Also you got some duplicates, which you will return for even more credit.
One duplicate in particular is a baby swing. Now your family member whose shower is the week after yours did not get the swing on her registry, and now has to go out and buy it.
Would you:
1. Give the extra swing to your family member free of charge?
2. Accept her offer to buy it from you ( granted this family member is currently not working)
Let me know what you would do?

Thanks ladies.
I thought they would just offer to give to us, but surprisingly not. It was not the swing I registered for, but I would have gladly accepted it if given to me.
We will just buy the one we registered for.

Honestly I wouldn't give it. I wouldn't take it either. My best friend got duplicates at her shower. She offered one to me but I told her she should return it for the credit. Why should her family give me a gift KWIM?

Ohhhhh I see. I'm assuming she attended your shower then and bought you a gift already.
If she already bought you a gift for your shower, I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't give you the swing.
If I had received duplicates and had a shower to attend and knew her swing didn't come off the registry and I had received the exact same swing, then I probably would have given her the swing as a gift FOR her shower. Normally I would not be a fan of recycling gifts but I think it would be ok since I would have returned it for credit anyways.
