Am I being too sensitive?
SInce the moment that I found out I was pregnant with # 2, nothing has gone smoothly. 1st I had to go find my dr because she left the practice, then I finally found her and started to see her in the new office, which I really loved the staff, only to have to move to her other office because she has night hours there. So, again, I move and not as happy with the staff there, I mean they are nice, but I felt more comfortable at the other place. So fast forward, I was diagnosed with GD again, no big shock, but I now have to go to a specialist several times and have to take off of work each time, which I really dont have the time, I am taking it out of maternity leave (NYC teacher). Then I find out that I "need" meds because my sugar is too high, only to find out that the machine was broken and not giving me accurate numbers this whole time and my numbers are actually fine. Now I go tonight, and my Dr. tells me that I have to get a sono every week because of the GD and that I have to find a place that can do it at night. She also was shocked that I didnt have this done for my first pregnancy, its like she didnt believe me when I told her she didnt have me get these sonos last time, UMMM hello, I have kept every sono and I think I would remember, I mean who doesnt love getting sonos? I dont know, I just feel like I get bombarded with all this stuff that I didnt with the first pregnancy. Is this normal? Was I just lucky with my first?? I feel like I am running around every where for all these appointments and that my Dr. doesnt really know me at all! All the joy has been taken out of this pregnancy, I think if I go for # 3, I may find a new dr. Sorry this is so long, I just needed to vent a bit.

I dont think you're being overly sensitive at all. To be honest, it sounds like your doctor is giving you most of the problems. You may want to look into finding a new OB (unless you're really set on this one). Maybe things will be a little smoother. I also think a sono every week seems excessive for GD. I know GD is serious, but weekly sonos?? How far along are you?

Re: Am I being too sensitive?
35 weeks, but she has already said that she will induce me a week early. Thats another thing, She didnt believe me when I said that I was a week late with my daughter. She insisted that she induced me early!! I think I would know better than anyone when she was due and when she was born...

Doesnt she keep records?? I feel like she should know based on records, not memory.
But at 35 weeks, I would think its a bit too late to switch doctors. And she may be doing the weekly sonos partially because of the GD and partially because of how far along you are. It actually doesnt seem all that odd to me now that I know how close to the end you are. Maybe next time you see her, you should just have a chat and let her know that you are positive that you went late with your first and that you're not sure why she doesnt have notes in your records, but you would appreciate if she was a bit more receptive to your concerns and questions.
Good Luck!

Re: Am I being too sensitive?
She left the practice under bad circumstances. I have signed a waiver for them to get my records, but she has not done so, not sure why. I think I might just go to the old office and get them. I loved this Dr. for my first delivery, I just feel like every time I go now, there is another issue...
