Would you be upset...
Would you be upset or am I just totally hormonal?
I have two extremely close friends & we all share everything about each other... Well, I had lunch with one friend and told her I'm having identical twins and told her that I was waiting to tell our other friend in pesron and not to say anything...
Well, I haven't seen friend number 2 yet so haven't told her yet but I just found out via an EMAIL from her that friend number 1 told her! She's like "oh, I hope you don't mind but Friend #1 told me your news, how exciting..." blah blah blah. I told her, ACTUALLY, I had been waiting patiently to tell you in person and I'm totally disappointed that Friend 1 ruined that now.
Would you be upset or am I overly hormonal?

No I'd be totally upset and dissapointed I didn't get to share the news myself! I'd let friend 1 know how you feel too...being nice about it but let her know that your totally let down that she told friend 2.

Since you specifically told that friend not to tell the other friend, then yes I would be totally upset.. this is your news not hers to tell.

Re: Would you be upset...
How much time passed between meeting Friend #1 and Friend #1 telling Friend #2?
I'd be upset because you specifically told her that you wanted to tell your other friend in person. If a lot of time had lapsed between your first meeting with your 1st friend, then I MIGHT be more forgiving, assuming she slipped because she had assumed you had met friend #2 by then.

Re: Would you be upset...
if all along I had told the 1st friend that I was waiting to tell the 2nd friend in person, then yes, I'd definitely be upset!!! My husband's family is very large and b/c I know word gets around so fast, the people that we wanted to tell ourselves, we just caved and called them with our news b/c otherwise we knew that they'd find out from others.
if the other friend knows there's not much you can do about it now, why not schedule having lunch with her as soon as possible so you can still talk about your joyous news in person? feel better!

Yes I would be upset. It was your news to tell, Friend #1 shouldn't have said anything. I'm sorry

Re: Would you be upset...
I'd be upset.
I could also see if there was a long period of time between telling Friend #1 & Friend #2, that Friend #1 would think Friend #2 knew already.
Also depends on Friend #2's situation, I could see Friend#1 saying something. If Friend #2 is dealing with issues & Friend #1 knows about it - she may have thought she was softening the blow.
It was your news to tell, but there may have been other factors involved.
