I did it!

I finally got up the nerve to get a new OB/GYN! I feel so relieved since my old office was so disorganized and messed up 2 of my appointments even though I had the appointment card to prove it! There were so many issues not just the appointments! But the new office does sono's which is really important bc I was having to take like the whole day off from work to go from old Dr. to the sono place and it was just way too much!

Congrats...I just switched mine also. My old dr forgot that I was pregnant! Chat Icon

I looked at DH, and decided it was time to change. I will be going to the new doc on Monday. I hope that he is good. Chat Icon

Re: I did it!

i AM VERY PROUD OF YOU BOTH..

I KINDA FEEL LIKE I SHOULD TOO....

ITS ODD - ITS NOT LIKE HE IS NOT GOOD OR I DONT LIKE HIM - I GUESS ITS FIRST IMPRESSIONS - BUT NOW I AM 5-MONTHS PREGNANT - IS IT STUPID TO CHANGE????

HOW FAR ALONG ARE YOU BOTH???

LET ME ASK YOUR OPINIONS - MY DOCTORS MACHINES ARE VERY OLD, LIKE THE LAST TIME I WENT GE COULDNT SEE THE HEATBEAT BUT THE BABY WAS MOVING ALL AROUND SO OBVIOUSLY THE BABY WAS OK - AT THAT TIME I WAS 20-WEEKS....

DO YOU THINK I SHOULD CHANGE - ALSO I AM HIGH RISK PATIENT AND I SEE ANOTHER DR. FOR BEING HIGH RISK AND I REALLY LIKE HIM - WOULD I HAVE TO CHANGE HIM TOO??

I am 12 weeks right now. I didn't feel comfortable with this doc from the beg but I let it go. Once she forgot that I was pregnant and lost my urine sample- I knew I couldn't stay there. THen I went on rate my doc website and she had alot of bad reviews. That sealed the deal for me. I don't think you are too far along if you are not comfortable then I would look into a different doc.

IMO I don't think that it is ever too late to change. I am currently 12w 1d and I even felt like it was "too late" but I know that I just feel so relieved!

A couple of the things that I experienced:

Sent for first sono and was told that they don't give out pictures until 12+wks (I was 8w and change). I have never heard of this!

Went for next appt 4 weeks later and they still hadn't gotten a copy of my sono report! Huh?

Not to mention they had no record of me having an appt - not once but twice! I thought the receptionist was on drugs! I had the appt card with her writing on it!

Then next appt they tried to hear heartbeat with doppler and couldn't hear it so midwife sent me to get another sono and wouldn't even let me schedule my next appointment! Same appointment I was told that they would schedule the Level I/Nuchal Test and would call me on Monday (it was a Friday) No call on Monday so I called them on Tuesday. "Oh, we're still working on it..." Yeah right! Then I got a call on Wednesday saying that they couldn't schedule it since I was too far along and it was for women in their first trimester! I'M IN THE FIRST TRIMESTER! They had the wrong due date by a month!

So those things plus not having a sono and never seeing the doctor and only a midwife I decided to change.

IMO if you're not happy at all then you should change - whether 5 months or 5 weeks! I don't think that you would have to change your RE. The only thing that you may have to check on is your insurance. Some insurance companies pay the Dr's office up front for everything. This wasn't the case for me so I was thrilled!

I hope that you get this straightened out and that you are happy! Pregnant women have enough to worry about and your doctor shouldn't be one of them! Hope this helps! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: I did it!

Congrats!I was very unhappy with my doc from the beginning, but I had some complications, so I stayed with him until the end of the first trim and then I switched. It was the best thing I ever did! I am so much happier now.

Thanks you too! It makes you feel like things are more "in order" if that makes sense...
