Mine has been done for about a month. The base that is. The seat itself DH will bring when we come home from the hosp.

We just had the base installed today and I'm due in 4 weeks. I'm on vacation so I'm trying to do as much as possible now!

Do it sooner rather than later...I tackled this at week 37 I believe...the baby can come at any moment I didn't want to leave it for last minute...plus over there I hear its harder to get an appt for the inspection. I was able to call and get an appt for that same weekend.

good question.. i was thinking of doing that soon..
are you supposed to get it checked/inspected somewhere - police or hospital??
i dont know - my co-worker did that and i didnt pay attention to ask why..

def not! most people don't realize that the seats get installed the wrong way (we swore we did ours correctly - we were wrong!)
have the seat inspected by making an appt at your local inspection site (it's free)

DD was born 3 weeks early...carseat was installed by DH when we were in the hospital. DD is in her forward facing carseat now, and DH will re-install the infant carseat when I'm in the hospital again.

I will do it the night before my scheduled c-section. It takes 2 secs to install so there is no need for me to do it sooner.

we did not do it until dd was born - I did not like the idea of having it in - I am a little superstitious. DH installed it either the night before or the morning (i do not remember!) he came to pick us up from the hospital.

We did the same at about 36 weeks- this time my c-section will be scheduled in advance so we will probably put it in the weekend/ few days before.
