medical insurance vent........
so, I make my first appointment today, I'm changing my doctor b/c my SIL had a wonderful experience w/ the practice she's been using, they have a female & a male doctor. I have Magnacare, but the female doctor is out of network (which is who I'd prefer) but oddly the male doctor is IN network. I call Magnacare and the union hall (this is local 3's insurance), and they said the out of network doctor is covered but it will be paid via reimbursement and not through Magnacare......here's the pain in the neck part, they will only allow my prenatal visits to ALL be IN network or ALL be OUT of network. I know usually you see both doctors so you're comfortable with whoever delivers you. this is so frustrating!!!!!!!!!! it's making me rethink changing doctors if I have to deal with this drama!!!
anyone else have to deal with this kind of stuff?

I made that suggestion to the receptionist, but she said she wasn't sure if that would be considered fraud lol.....she's checking w/ their billing department to see what they can do and they're going to call me after they speak to the union hall

Re: medical insurance vent........
personally i wouldn't want to deal with the paperwork drama and would try to find an in-network obgyn practice (where all the doctors were in-network). That's just me though. If you don't mind paying out of network co-pays, then just stick with it.

thanks! I'm really hoping I can convince them to just bill me under the in network doctor. I'll check back with them in a few days and figure out what I'm going to do. this stinks.
