1st internal at 39 weeks and...
my DR. said my cervix is long and I'm only 1 cm dialted, he also said he expects to see me @ my 40 week appt
....then just to make me a little more bummed as he was finishing up he got paged to go to the hospital for a delivery
The baby is healthy and happy in it's home, guess Mom has to learn a little patience

I was totally daydreaming about being sent directly to the hospital from my appointment today! Yea, that didn't happen!
Our babies must know it's freaking cold out here and are choosing to stay in a tropical envirnoment, smart kids!

Did he say anything about what the plan is if there's no progress at your 40 wk appt?

He did, if I don't go by then I come back at 40w5d for one last progress check. At that appointment I'll either go directly to the hospital or they will schedule an induction for the next day.
My Dr's are pretty conservative and would prefer to let nature take it's course, they generally won't induce until you go past 41.5 weeks, but they are willing to make sure I go before the new year. I do like that they are conservative, but at this stage I am just getting so anxious to meet the baby!

Sorry that is didn't have a better outcome for you! I am right there with you on the impatient scale! My dr wont induce me until 42 weeks...I am going to have to talk to him about that, boy does the thought of that upset me!!!

Thanks, it's OK though I really shouldn't be complaining, I've had a really easy healthy pregnancy. I'm trying to keep that in mind when I get whiny and impatient 
It seems our Dr's have similar attitudes, hopefully yours will help you go a little early - you deserve the tax deduction!

Ditto, I really have to be thankful that I could have had it a lot worse!!!!
My dr won't let me go over 41 weeks, he mentioned the 27th to be induced bc I want my tax deduction so I think if tomorrow he says no progress, I'll just put myself down for the 27th to play it safe...I swear I feel likeI'm making an appt to do my hair

Same here. My doctor won't let me go past 41 weeks so I will be induced on the 28th if this baby does not decide to arrive before that time. I want the tax deduction too and so does DH...hahah

If my  doesnt decide to come out on her own, I'll be induced on 1/6...I literally almost fell off the exam table when he told me that date! I was sooooooo upset!
I am  that I dont have to go that long!!!
