? about due dates

I know I'm early and I should wait until I see my doctor but I went on pregnology.com just to see what my approximate due date is and they base it on your last menstrual cycle. Is that how the doctor does it as well? Doesn't that add 2 extra weeks? Since you techincally conceive about 2 weeks after your menstrual cycle?

Re: ? about due dates

At first thats how he figured out due date, then after first sono they measured the featus and the computer calculated the due date. Last pregnancy I ended up having a later due date after sono, this pregnancy I had an earlier due date after sono. But as for me sono was the most accurate due date. The sono on first pregnancy gave me due date of Sept 21-22, and dd came on the 22.

Yes. Technically by the LMP you have a 40 w PG, even though the 2ww is included.

Ironically they call it a "guesstimate" with a 2 week swing anyway....

Re: ? about due dates

Honestly, I have a whole bunch of different due dates. Mine is anywhere from 8/11 thru 8/17. My ob said that once he does the 1st sono he will know a more definite date for me.

Re: ? about due dates

One more question, based on that website on Dec 24 I will be exactly 6 weeks, does that mean I will have my first sono?

Possibly. Every Drs office is different. I would definitely ask your Dr when you call.

they will go by your LMP to determine sono.. but dont get freaked out b/c no heartbeat and ask you to come back another time for another sono. B/c the LMP is just an estimate.

LMP is just an estimate as may not have O'd when you think you did. Once you have your first sono, or maybe even the second, they will determine your actual due date from the sonogram.

Re: ? about due dates

Yes, they usually do go by LMP & add that 2 weeks that you weren't technically pregnant. My DD based on my LMP was I think 3/30. Based on when I thought I ovulated, it should've been 4/2. I had been going with that date until last week when my midwife told me that my sonos calculated my due date for 3/31 so they're sticking with that. It doesn't matter so much since it's really just an estimate & baby will come when its good & ready.
