Very disappointed
My insurance conmpany doesnt cover the nuchal translucency test. With me out of work we can't afford to pay out of pocket. Oh well...just wanted to vent. I hate Virginia. lol

Re: Very disappointed
Hmmm... Did you ask them specifically about the test, or did you have the insurance coding for it?
My Dr. gave me the insurance coding for it, and told me when I ask the insurance company about it, to ask by giving them the code rather than the name of the test.

Re: Very disappointed
I think this is a very standard test. Maybe you should have your doctor's office call them to check again.

Re: Very disappointed
At first they told me that they only covered the u/s part but not the blood work...they just called to tell me they dont cover it at all. Should I call the insurance compay myself?

Re: Very disappointed
I would absolutley call the company yourself. Maybe they don't cover the provider. I was required to go to get a CVS test with a prior pregnancy and through Columbia- it was not covere but through another facility it was. I would get the specifics because I think this is very standard.

Re: Very disappointed
I'm in NC and have 2 boys. Down here my doctor doesn't do the test and it's not covered by insurance. My doc said it's not a standard test they do. I've always wondered why it is in NY since I see everyone here having it done, but I have never had it done down here.
