Who pays for the comission the owner of the property or the person renting????
I thought the owner but not sure?

Rental commissions are typically paid by the renter/tenant.

It's typically one month's rent, but sometimes 10% of the year's total rent (they tend to do this in NYC).
The commission goes to the RE agent(s). When we found our apt., it was on MLSLI and our agent split the commission with the landlord's RE agent. We wrote 2 checks, each for half of one month's rent.

In my experience the renter/tenant paid one month's rent to the realtor as a fee.
