I know quest labs requires an appointment.
You have to fast beforehand (not my favorite part)
Yes, you do have to stay there for three hours. When you first get there, they will take blood. Then you will drink the glucose drink and then every hour on the hour after that they will take your blood.
I brought along my portable dvd player so that I could watch movies for three hours!

My Quest did not require an appointment. I did make one though. You do have to stay there for 3 hours. They test your blood 1x per hour.

I read 2/3rds of a book while I was there.

Oh, that's good! The quest labs I went to did NOT require an appointment for the one hour, but did require an appt for the 3 hour test.

Re: What's the deal with the 3 Hr GT?

For the 3 hour, I was required to make an appointment with Quest.

They will draw your blood 4 times. Once when you get there, then every hour after you finish the glucola drink. I was not allowed to leave. At one point, my father called, and I went to step into the hall to talk to him, and I got yelled at by the receptionist that I could not leave.

Since it is a fasting test, I would go as early as possible.
