What is the difference between

JHS and a Brazilian Straighting ? Which is better for your hair? I have highlights .My hair was very curly I had a baby and the curls have turned into a frizzy unruly ugly looking curl and the only time my hair looks half way decent is when I get a blowout. Well thanks for any input.

brazilian is a gentler treatment suppsedly and it washed out..jhs is permanent

you absolutely CAN get the JHS done if you have highlights, they just put a protectant on the highlighted strands and don't leave the chemical on for as long in those areas.

The difference is JHS is permanent (until your hair grows out) and the Brazilian washes out. JHS leaves your hair pin straight, you don't need to blow it out. The Brazilian takes out the frizz, you still need to blow it.

You can still curl your hair with the JHS using a curling iron or even just tying it in a bun while it's wet and letting it air dry, then untying it and voila.

2 of my friends did the brazilian and it broke their hair... I believe they had the original kind with the formaldahyde in it. It also washed out in 4 weeks. I've also heard of people who've had GREAT results from the Brazilian.

I've been getting JHS for like 6 years.. my hair looks perfectly healthy. This isn't the case with everyone who's gotten the JHS, some people have had bad results - but I truely believe it's about the person who gives you the treatment.
