Serious SInus headache right now
OMG!  I have the worst sinus headache right now! I havent been to my first dr apt yet, can someone plz tell me what I can take? I used to take excedrine migrane, is that allowed?

The only thing that is safe is Tylenol. Try taking some ES Tylenol with a glass of soda or some other caffinated drink.

I just saw my dr. on Tues. with the WORST sinus infection. He told me I can take: Tylenol, 1 benadryl or sudafed (regular).

i'm not sure about benadryl sinus - this is from the paperwork the RE gave me:
Pain: Tylenol, Tylenol 3, percocet. (do not take: motrin, advil or nuprin)
Coughs, cold, flu: Sudafed, robitussin (not robitussin DM)
Allergies: benadryl
Constipation: colace, Metamucil, Fibercon
Antacid: tums
Inhalers: if you are asthmatic and need to use inhalers, you may take these
Vaginal/Yeast Infections: over the counter preparations (monistat, Mycelex) are safe
Antibiotics: penicillin, amoxicillin, erythromycin
ETA: I said Tylenol Cold in my above answer, because i asked the nurse that specific question when i was on the phone with her last week.

I read your post as I sit here with an ice pack aginst my head. I have been having major sinus/allergy issues. As a migraine sufferer, the only thing that ever worked for my headaches is excedrin migraine. Being that's a no-no, i have found that sometimes having a cup of regular coffee does the trick. Caffeine is a wonder drug when it comes to headaches. Plus, the cold compress helps too. Feel better.

I tried using the Neti pot ( or sinucleanse, Dr. OZ recommended) and it said that it was okay for pregnancy rhinisitis. It worked to clear me out and keep things moist.

I have been having post nasal drip which are cause me to cough and sinus headaches - I saw the OB yesterday he said tylenol and IF and only IF I'm dying to take some benedryl - otherwise in the 1st trimester to hold off on the benedryl unless it is very necessary.
Neti pots, steam, spicy foods, extra fluids - esp warm fluids, all are non medicated ways that often work for me in the past (pre pregnancy) when I had severe sinus problems before my sinus surgery.
