So I never told you this gem...
I was in the library checking out, and I had a book about twins. Conversation with the woman checking the stuff out:
Her: Oh you're having twins?
Me: Yes.
Her: Do you know what you are having?
Me: A boy and a girl.
Her: THATS SO WONDERFUL!
Me: Yes, we are very excited.
Her: Are they identical?
Me: ( hesitation because I can't believe that was just asked as per the question about gender.) Uh..no they are fraternal.
Her: Oh really? (sounding all disappointed).
Me: (with a fake smile on my face) Uh, yea.. definitely not identical.

People definitely don't get that identical is IDENTICAL. I used to get that question all of the time as I stood next to my blond haired, blue-eyed twin. I would usually say "You don't know what identical means, do you?"
But since you're having   , feel free to say
"No I'm pretty sure their genitalia won't look the same"

Hate to crash, but my DH gets this ALL the time. He has a twin sister and you wouldn't believe how many people ask him (or even ask me when I mention he has a twin sister) if they are identical.

My dh and his sister are twins and they get asked this sometimes.. They are grown adults.. "Are you identical??"..
My mom and her sister are also twins and get asked this and they are not even close to looking alike!
