There are just so many animals in need and in shelters that it doesn't really make sense to byb when you can rescue one and be a hero.

BYBs notoriously breed diseased dogs. They are usually unlicensed, and inexperienced. They do not follow any guidelines to help promote health and betterment of breeding. They are usually "hobby" breeders that have very limited resources to proper vet care and generally do not keep themselves educated in medical and breeding advances.
