If the average is 2K, why do I always end up with nothing over 1K?? 
How does everyone get so much back? Granted I don't own a house...but still.

Maybe the people that do their own taxes can shed some light on us...we only been getting larger returns the last few years...like I posted the main thing was our house...but before that we always got back about 16,000 so I thought that was the average...I am abit  for posting it...Im sorry

I have owned my house for 12 1/2 years but never got back close to that. the past few years my DH & I have gotten back 2-3K

taxes paid including real estate
I use to receive earned income credit before I was married when my daughter was younger.

The most we have gotten back in 12 years was $3,000. That was after a house and 2 kids.
