If you do not have a shower...
are you still supposed to register?
I decided that I do not want to have a shower, but am I supposed to still register for anybody who chooses to buy us a gift anyway?

I did. Many of my friends and family asked me to. we bought most of the big ticket items already, but I put a few things on there.

I did for this Baby because I wanted the 10% and also it is more like a check list of things I need to get so I don't forget

I'd still register b/c people will probably buy you gifts regardless of whether you have a shower. If you have a registry, at least you have some control over the gifts you get. If someone wants to buy you a car seat, stroller, or other big item, IMO it would be better to do the research yourself and register for what you want.

I think you should. People are going to buy you gifts when the baby is born so you're not going to want double or triple of things and stuff they get you may return b/c it doesn't match or you have it. Might as well ask for things you're going to need.
