Re: asthma sufferers
I am and since I've been pregnant it's been aggravated. -
I take oral Singulair every day - I also use my inhaler, and if I have a really bad/uncomfortable day, I use the nebulizer ...........
The Dr. said any meds I NEED, are fine. -
And I figure, if I can't breathe, that can't be good for the baby -
I'm hoping it doesn't get worse as I get further along .....I'm only 11 weeks now

Re: asthma sufferers
I use an albuterol inhaler (The Maxair I was using got way too $$$$)
and I *think* I also use albuterol in the nebulizer - I'm not 100% sure about that though -

Re: asthma sufferers
Yeah I was great this summer and was really happy that my asthma was under control with just the Advair.
The past few weeks have been bad and I have been using the albuterol more frequently. I was on Claritin before TTC for seasonal allergies that contribute to irritiating my asthma and I'm not on anything now. I have an appointment next week and I think I'm going to ask what kind of allergy medicine I can go on because I thinknn it is contributing to the increase in albuterol usage......
Ughhh I hope this is an easy winter for me, that is usually when my asthma is the worse....

same as me... good summer, Advair and inhaler here and there but these past couple weeks were really bad. do u take your advair twice a day? I was told I can take claritan, so i do here and there (since it is category B while advair and combivent (my inhaler) are category C) so I would rather take claritin. but sometimes it doesnt do the job and i only take it when needed. winter is the worst for u? see fall and spring are worse for me. its not fun and the baby pushing on diaphragm or whatever makes it worse not to mention increase in acid reflux makes asthma worse as well..... alot of strikes against us during preg. but its aaalllllllll worth it!

Right now I am on the Advair 250 discus 1 puff 1x a day, I may be increasing to 2x a day.
If you don't take the advair everyday it won't work for you....why are you only taking it every once in a while?
Advair is an inhaled steroid that needs to be taken everyday, it actually takes about 5 days of continuous use to work effectively because it needs to build up in your system.
Also, you have to be VERY CAREFUL coming off any type of steroid medication like advair because of rebounding effects.
Essentially you can be making your asthma worse by going on and off of it.
Becareful, FM me if you have any questions.
