I'm so upset
I don't know if anyone remembers but I posted a couple of weeks ago that the doctors thought my Dad might have MS. Well today his spinal tap conifrmed it and he has to start immediate steroid treatment for 5 hours a day for a week. Then he needs to inject himself with medication everyday for the rest of his life. This is so hard for me to handle because all he does is physical things all day...he is working on the baby room with DH and it just makes him happy to be "productive" all the time.
The meds are going to make him really depressed and sick and I just wish there was something I could do for him....I keep asking myself why him and why now..this is such a happy time, he is going to be a Grandfather for the first time to TWO babies....life really throws you some curveballs sometimes

 I'm so sorry. I remember how difficult it was when my mother was diagnosed. If it makes you feel any better, my mother has always said that my daughter is one of her reasons for pushing through everyday. She says being a grandmother has helped her find her strength. I'm sure your babies will do the same for your father.

II ahve a friend that was diagnosed with MS and she is doing great...She lives a very active lifestyle and doesn't let teh disease control her life

Im sorry about your dad
My neighbor next door is on the injections everyday and it has not stopped her she is a very active mother of 2. I hope he has a very successful treatment

I'm so sorry- my mom has MS, so I know how you are feeling. I agree with PP who said that the fact that you are giving him so much to keep going for is huge- MS is a mystery. Some people are able to stay functional and work through the pain, and some just give in to it.
It sounds like your dad has a lot to look forward to, and I am sure this will help him as he faces this. Plus, the medications they have today are so amazing when they catch it early.

I was recently diagnoised with MS. I also did the steriods and now have to inject myself everyday with meds. It is possible that he will do fine. So far my life hasn't changed at all. FM me if you want more information!
