I need some help!

We adopted our mix-breed dog Lily from NSAL when she was 9 weeks old. She is now 11 months old. For the most part, she hasn't given us too many problems. She is house-broken, and has been since she is about 12 weeks, she has always been great with my 9 and 7 year olds.
The problems are, her chewing on my kitchen table, moldings, and now drawer fronts. She has taken food off the table, and then today I had a pork roast on the stove to be put into the oven, I left the room for 2 minutes, and came back to her front legs on the stove, eating the roast.
I don't know what to do with her. She has toys, she has bones, I am home with her, so she gets attention.
I should also say that we used the crate with her from the beginning, and now she sleeps in it at night. We leave her out all day and when we are not home. I have to say though that these things happen whether we are home or not. Also, she pulls like crazy recently when we walk her. Both of my kids have fallen because of this, and I am 32 weeks pregnant and she pulls me very hard too.
Please let me know what I can do to stop this behavior.

Well as for biting the tables and the moldings have you tried apple bitters? This is a spray that tastes really bad to dogs and should make them not want to chew. As for taking food of counters i think it's a dicipline issue! Get a spray bottle or whatever you can..some say a can filled with coins that you shake and when/if you catch her doing it punish her. The loud noise of the can or the spray normally shows them that the behavior is unaccepbale. I have a small dog so I am not sure how to stop the pulling, but I think it's time for someone to show your dog who's boss...

Did you ever think of taking her to a obedience (puppy) class? We did that and it helped with listening and discipline with everything. If ours acted up we would spray the yucky tasting spray where she was biting and that worked too. It has been a year since she acted (she is 2 years old). Eventually she will grow out of it but I would try a class like at PetSmart or PETCO. Good luck.

Re: I need some help!

What do you do when she she behaves badly? Its all about discipline and patience.. I can only imagine how hard it is with 2 children and being pregnant but it can be done..

You have to be the pack leader and teach her manners.. Get her plenty of chew bones.. Petco has those very large bully sticks that last forever.. (never leave the dog home alone with a bone) I would crate her when I am not home.. And take her on a very long walk once a day or shorter walks more (of course after you master the walk) If you dont want to get the trainer watch the dog whisperer.. its on every day 2pm on the national geographic channel.. Its all about the walk.. A tired dog is a good dog,, You must drain her energy and teach her to follow you on that walk.. Then when your in the house she will also follow your lead,,

I have learned so much from just watching this show I cant begin to tell you.. I tape every single episode and read his book Ceasar Milan.. Its not BS I have a very well balanced obedient dog.. She doesnt jump on people when they come in.. She doesn't beg at the table, She doesnt bark every time the door bell rings.. All because I learned what to do, being CALM and ASSERTIVE!
