question about swollen hands...

I never swelled up before so this is new to me....I had to take off me wedding band

and my knuckles hurt so much....it hurts to make a fist.

Is that normal??

I'm 35 weeks and I suddenly swelled up this weekend too

yeah, my hands feel a tad swollen / large when I make a fist, and my ring size went up by 1 around 3 weeks ago or so. my ankles and feet are severely swollen and awful.... they look like overstuffed sausages.

It is normal, but it's always good to tell the Dr. because swelling (especially if it's on one side of the body but not the other, or if the hands and feet both suddenly take a turn for the worse) could be a sign of something more serious (embolism or preeclampsia).

Yes, totally normal. I had to take my wedding band off around 30 weeks and ever since my knuckles and hands have hurt, especially in the morning. It hurts when I make a fist also. I think its just part of the water retention. I try to stretch my hands out everyday to get the fluid flowing. Sometimes it works, sometimes it dosen't

I have this too and am only 21 weeks

This just started for me this week (34 weeks). I can barely get my wedding band on right now and my fingers feel funny when I make a fist. But I feel pretty lucky it's held off this long!!

I had this over the weekend as well, my hands feel much better today and the swelling has gone down.

I definately notice it more in the heat/humdity, or when I'm just doing too much.
