I'm miserable.....

I don't know if it's sciatica or just pregnancy related hip pain, but I have a TERRIBLE pain in my right butt-cheek. It's been like this for about a week- but last night it was so bad I couldn't walk.
My DH had to actually carry me up the stairsChat Icon . I couldn't MOVE.

Thank goodness it's better today (I can at least bear a little weight on my leg) because I have to take care of DD (14 months old) while DH is at work. It still hurts like a bltch though and I'm limping.

I've tried stretching, but it's almost impossible to do- it hurts that bad.

I'll be calling my OB to find out what this is/treatment options- but is anyone else dealing with this? What did you do?

Thx for any insight....

Re: I'm miserable.....

It's most likely sciatica.

Do you have low back pain also?

Things you can do:

Stetching
Massage
Pray your EDD comes asap.

It's pretty localized into my right hip/cheek. It's not constant, but if I move the wrong way, it's like a shock of pain that almost paralyzes me- almost like I'm STUCK.

I had the EXACT same thing when I was around 22'ish weeks. It was excruciating but it lasted only a few days and then just went away. Luckily it has never returned. Just try to relax a little and take it easy, I found that the heating pad helped a bit too when it was really bad. Feel better. Chat Icon Chat Icon

It sounds like sciatica. I would also ice the area and your lower back to try to bring down the swelling of the nerve. Those icy hot patches also help ease the pain. Stretching and massage also helps. Take it very easy and rest as much as you can, but I know that's hard. Feel better!
