Advice - no h/b
My LMP was on 6/6/08 (17 days late). I have gone for 3 sonograms in the last 10 days and there is no heartbeat. The sac is measuring at 7weeks and the fetal pole at 6weeks. The doctor does not think this is a viable pregnancy and scheduled a D&C next week. My HCG level and progesterone levels have not doubled just slighly higher.
Has anyone gone through this? Should I get a 2nd opinion or am I just trying to hang on to hope?

Re: Advice - no h/b
You are in a really tough spot. If it were me, I would get a second opinion. I would just want to REALLY make sure before I had a D&C.
What were your hcg levels? You can't see a h/b until they reach 6000.
We're here for you!!!

Re: Advice - no h/b
I would get a 2nd opinion, and wait a couple of more days. You just want to give that little baby any chance possible.
I am so sorry you have to worry about this.

Re: Advice - no h/b
A second opinion definitely can't hurt and at least will give you peace of mind either way. And I would also demand another sono before the D&C is done if that's what is decided.
I'm SO sorry you are dealing with this and am sending you lots of prayers

Re: Advice - no h/b
my first pregnancy was a blighted ovum (sac, but no fetus developed). I ended up miscarrying naturally and not needing the D & C.
It is VERY Common and it will NOT affect your chances of getting PG again. We waited the suggested 3 months after (more for emotional healing than anything) and got PG on month 2 of trying.
I feel your pain and loss.

I would get a second opinion and ask lots of questions. Make sure you know and understand everything before you make any final decisions.

Re: Advice - no h/b
If your HCG levels are not rising, I would say there is no hope. Im sorry.
My last period was end of June, around the 26th-27th and I have seen the HB.
Usually by 6 weeks you can.
Im so so sorry.
I would tell you to see a specialist for a super duper sono to check, but if your numbers are not rising in a big way, thats a sure indication ...
