Swollen Already?
I know most to none of us are MDs, but my ankles and feet are pretty swollen already. I'm trying to keep my feet elevated at my desk and drink water, but should I be overly concerned?
I'm only 15 weeks.

Yep-mine started swelling around 14 weeks. Dr said not much you can do except elevate and drink lots of water. You can try compression stockings too.
For me the only thing that works is elevating above my heart so I lay two pillows on the couch for my head and put my feet on the arm and they do get better within 20-30 minutes

We have a chaise in our L/R, and last night I propped my feel on two pillows for extra leverage. Noticed it did go down, but now I'm at work and seeing the swelling again. Can't even say its that uncomfortable, it just freaks me out!

Re: Swollen Already?
the time you should be super-concerned is if only one ankle/leg is swollen and the other isn't. That could be a sign of an embolism in the making...... other than that, it's just annoying swelling.
I had sudden super swollen ankles last weekend I *thought* I was drinking enough, but wanted to make sure. I did an experiment.
TMI alert:
I checked the color of my pee... it was not deep yellow, but it definitely wasn't light yellow either.. it was medium-level. (I was drinking about 4 liters or 1 gallon a day). I decided to force down an extra liter every day (making 5 in total).
After 2 days, over 80% of the swelling in my ankles disappeared, and my pee was light yellow. I also felt less achy, could get out of bed and off of the couch much easier, and had more energy.
I think I had a subtle case of dehydration by 'only' drinking a gallon a day, if you can believe it!
so, you may want to check out your pee color and increase your liquid intake.... HTH!
