Traits of the Parents...
Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on this.
Is it possible that even at a very early gestational age a baby can have certain traits of it's parents?
I'm asking because last night I was looking at my ultrascreen pictures and there is a picture of the baby doing something with it's hand which is identical to something my DH does. It's one of those things that he does subconciously but does all the time. I was 12w1d when we had our sono.
So it got me wondering if that's possible at this early stage.

Well I don't have a flat screen in my belly so I know Ed-lie ain't watching WWE or football. I'd have to disagree.
If anything, she is like her grandmother - my mom - kicking me in the gut just to let me know she is there. RIP Mom, but you know you love this!!!!

Re: Traits of the Parents...
I got a 4D pic at my 16 week sono and was amazed because DD is making the same exact face that her daddy makes. I have the pic up on my fridge because it is so precious in me.

At both 12 and 19 weeks, Scone had his chin resting on his hand (like the thinker).... at the level II, the sono tech looked up at DH who was looking at the screen with his chin on his hand... she laughed....

Physical and some personality traits - yes. Behavioral traits like making faces or movements, I would have to say no. I believe that behaviors like that are learned, not innate.

I have to disagree with this.
Every child in my family sits in this one position that is slightly odd and something that none of us do as adults, but Logan does it all the time.
He's never seen it, but he does it.
And thing with certain facial expressions that I saw early on. He couldn't have seen them but he did them.
I definitely think it's possible.

Good thing you don't have a flat screen there, Ed-lie may never come out!
I just thought it was so interesting and so cool to see that at this early stage.

I agree with you. When my friend's daughter was born from the moment she arrived she had these facial expressions that were the EXACT expressions of her father and at only a few hours old that was not a learned response. She's just her father's daughter.

Re: Traits of the Parents...
I think the baby can have some of the same traits. My husband curls up in a ball to sleep...our baby, on the last 3 sonos, is curled up in a ball the same exact way my DH does.
I know a lot of babies are squished, but this is literally in a ball.

Re: Traits of the Parents...
At our 12 week she was pursing her lips almost making a kissing face, which I do subconciously, yes its weird but I actually do it when I'm thinking...and we got a picture of her doing it, it was soooo strange...
