at the ultrascreen are they patient...
DH and I are going for our Ultrascreen on tuesday and ill be 13 w 4 d. Im having it done at dr. Haunauer office. Can they generally give you an idea at the time if everything is ok? Also i know we don't want to know the sex so how do they hide it. I mean i want to see pics of down there and see what i think. DH is more nervous and anxious about this test than i am.

Re: at the ultrascreen are they patient...
I had mine yesterday and right away i told sono tech i dont want to know sex.. she said dont worry its too early to tell. She even showed up the babies legs and couldnt tell either boy or girl. She told us that baby is right on schedule and showed us arms, legs and face profile and doc said everything looks good. I didnt get official results, they took more bw and go back in a month and then they will give me all the results.
Good Luck!! it was soo much fun, cant believe how fast the baby grows.. its an actually full body baby.. no more tadpole.

Re: at the ultrascreen are they patient...
The tech was able to tell us what sex she thought the baby was, but not because you can see any girl or boy parts. She said they are generally 75% right. She did ask us though first if we were going to find out. So we have an idea of what sex our baby is, but won't know 100% until my Level II in September. A friend of mine went to the same place for her Level II, they told her the sex then too and they were right on when she had her Level II. The tech showed us how they can determine early on what the sex of the baby is without seeing the genitalia which you can't see this early on.
As for the results, some places I guess are different. We were able to get the results within a few minutes of the sono being done. I had done the finger prick test a couple of weeks earlier, so they had already received those results at the time of my Ultrascreen.

at 13 weeks you'd really have to be looking to tell. We had no idea what we were looking at until the tech pointed it out during the amnio at 19 weeks.

Re: at the ultrascreen are they patient...
my sono tech wouldnt even place a guess at 13 weeks...I asked! The sono was about 10 or 15 minutes long and they measured the fluid in the back of the baby's neck...we were actually able to see both arms, hands, legs and feet. The baby held it's hand up straight and I was able to see the five fingers on his/her right hand. It was really cool. I am going for my level II tomorrow, I cannot wait to find out what the baby is!!

I didn't even think to ask! She was pretty quick, and said "this baby looks great". I asked if what she measured looked OK, and she said yes, but also said everything was inconclusive until the bw came back. Two weeks later, still waiting for results!
