When your sick.................

do you call your primary MD or your OB/Midwife?

I'm so sick... I think I have a sinus infection. Stuffy nose, sneezing, sore throat, clogged head and ears post nasal drip which is making me vomit even more....LOVELY...........

I'm nervous because Im an asthmatic and as soon as I get sick it goes straight to my lungs.....I'm already starting to feel more short of breath.


My options are to go to my MD tomorrow they have hours, or call my Midwife via the emergency calling service.

I never asked who I was suppose to call when I got sick?

WHat do all the mommie to be do??

If it's something like what you described, I go to my GP. Only for things that will directly affect the baby do I call my OB.

I always thought that when preggo you call your OBGYN/Midwife 1st! That they kinda become your Primary Care!

When I had the bad case of hives, I called my OBGYN who then told me to either get to my Primary or the ER immediately! But they kept calling to check in on me.

I've been calling my OB first. This past week I had a headache for five days and called them first and they wanted me to get my blood pressure checked. Everything with the BP is fine, headache is still there and I think it's sinuses, so she suggested going to my GP now.
