2nd (or more!) timers

What will you do differently this time around?

Me? I will send DH home to sleep. It was awful having him in the room because I KNEW he was uncomfortable (250 pounds on that little fold out "couch"!). Plus with them waking me up every couple hours to feed the baby, check vitals, etc, we were BOTH exhausted the next day.

I will not bring my own PJs- I was perfectly comfortable sleeping in the hospital gowns (though I WILL bring my own robe this time).

I'm still going back and forth about having the baby room-in with me. Last time, I sent the baby to sleep in the nursery, but brought to me for feedings (BF).

Re: 2nd (or more!) timers

Ha ha. This time I also let DH go home before 10, but that was mostly because I wanted him to spend as much time with DD at home as he could.

I was nursing this time around again but also gave formula since I felt I starved my DD by not supplementing. I also sent him back for the night so I could get sleep. I thought I wouldn't be able to sleep...but I slept like a champ the whole night!Chat Icon

The crying doesn't make me all nervous like it did the first time, I'm so much more relaxed.

I brought pj's so I'd look half presentable to guests since I felt so blah Chat Icon .

Also I'm not stressing out about nursing as much as I did with DD. I'm doing it for now...but I'm eating what I want...I have my morning coffee...and give formula when I feel like it and it's working out great!

You just reminded me! I will supplement with a little formula until my milk comes in. Poor DD was a MESS when we got home from the hospital because she was so hungry. This time around I'll give her some formula.

This time Dh will not take off from work while I'm in the hospital. I need him when I'm home, not at the hospital.

On the same vein, DH will only take 1 week off until my mom comes, then another week after she leaves. Last time he stayed home for 2 weeks and my parents were here for most of it to. I was DEFINITELY not ready to be home alone when he went back to work and they left.
