I just delivered at Winthrop. Both of my experiences were residents doing my internals, sonograms, paperwork, etc. and then they would call the doctor to tell them my progress. Which was fine with me. And then I had my practices on call doctor that I didn't know come check me, and then by the time it was time for me to deliver, my doctor was on call and they did the rest of the internals, checking and the delivery. The doctors won't come in until they know your progress because it could be for hours and hours, false labor, etc.

My advice to avoid the residents is to labor as much as you possibly can at home so you show up almost ready to go. HTH!
