ah Insurance
So, I was trying to get my anesthesiologist covered for my last IVF. And guess what I discovered? My RE office put through the entire IVF cycle and they were reimbursed for all the b/w and sono's throughout my cycle. Now I did ask them to put in the ER so i could get the anesthesiologist covered (needs to be with a procedure code and nothing was submitted). So instead of rejecting the whole thing my insurance paid them for certain items. Now i wish I tried to bargain with them b/c knowing this means I didn't have to pay for the b/w and sonos and now I have all the amounts that each costs in detail. I'm sure this will be an annoying fight. I bet the finance dept doesn't call me back. Its so wrong if they were going to leave it alone and its so wrong if they return the check to my insurance company (which is what the clerk said that they would do).
Edited: I should add we were self pay because we are small business and no one offers IVF coverage to small business. Which sucks.

Re: ah Insurance
that's so wrong. Come on, it's feast or famine with this stuff.
the reason IF isn't covered in a lot of cases is because there is no gold standard across the board and frankly, there probably won't be. There are so many different protocols and labs have their own protocols.
