Acupuncture

I made an appointment with an acupuncturist in my area that specializes with IF, and works in conjunction with most of the fertility clinics around here.

I am the biggest skeptic of them all and I'm really hesitant to do this, but I figure, I'm willing to do ANYTHING that will improve my chances for the IVF.

My first appt. is Monday - what can I expect?

I love, love, love acupuncture. If anything, it totally helps the stress factor and is incredibly relaxing.

Most likely you will have a consult first appointment. Sometimes they will do acu too, but most likely its just a consult. They will look at your tongue, take pulse rate and ask a ton of questions. Next time you are back for an actual appointment they will go over any recommendations and do the needles. I try not to look at them. They don't hurt at all. Though sometimes when I'm more tense I feel them go in for a second then it goes away, it doesn't hurt. I always feel like that area must need work. Other times I can't even tell if they are there. Then you are left alone (depending on place and time of year there are heat lamps and blankets, which I love cause I'm always cold) for like 20-30 minutes. My place plays relaxation music and I always fall asleep (and I snore and wake myself up ).

Good luck, if anything it will relax you through out the process.

OMG... this happens to me too!!! I always wake up and wonder if someone heard me snoring away!
